Meet the Compassionate Minds Guiding Our Mission

Dr. Kim MacDonald MD, FRCSC
Dr. Kim MacDonald (he/him/his) is an Obstetrician Gynecologist in Victoria with a special interest in high-risk pregnancies. Through this work he has been inspired to expand in-hospital and in-community support for families with infertility and pregnancy loss, realized through the creation of Full Circle Perinatal Care and the Pacific Perinatal Foundation. Apart from this work, Kim maintains a busy obstetrics and gynecology practice, delicately balanced with family life including his four, spirited children.

Stephanie Curran R.TCM.P
Stephanie (she/her/hers) is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and the clinical director of the Elements of Health Centre. She has been supporting people in growing their families, during their pregnancies, and through postpartum for over two decades. Stephanie also facilitates a variety of mindfulness programming (fertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum) and is a certified instructor of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through Brown University. She is a co-founder of the Pacific Perinatal Foundation and a member of an integrated practice called Full Circle Perinatal Care. Stephanie experienced a challenging fertility journey and cares deeply about supporting others through the heartache of infertility and pregnancy loss.

Sara Anderson
Sara is a seasoned marketing executive with extensive experience establishing and nurturing brands from their inception. Her journey into the fertility industry was deeply personal, ignited by her heartfelt experiences with infertility. Motivated by a belief in the significance of equitable access to fertility care as a fundamental aspect of healthcare, Sara jumped from a career in tech, into the fertility sector to build awareness and drive change by partnering with visionary employers to provide inclusive fertility benefits to their employees—ensuring that every member of their workforce has access to the fertility care they need.

Anna van der Hooft
Anna van der Hooft works as the Digital Communications and Project Coordinator for the Anglican Diocese of BC. She also holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Opera and previously worked as an opera singer. In 2023 Anna and her husband Jan lost their son Willem during labour to a prolapsed chord at 40 weeks. In the year that followed, PPF supported her family through two miscarriages and the birth of their son James in 2024. Anna was inspired to give back and support other families experiencing loss by joining the PPF board in 2025.

Amber Andresen
Amber (she/her/hers) is a policy paralegal specializing in corporate law. Beyond her career, she is also an artist who advocates for healing through creative expression. Amber and her partner faced years of unexplained infertility before successfully conceiving through IVF. In 2022, their daughter, Claire, died unexpectedly during labor at 40 weeks. Seeking support in the aftermath of this tragedy, Amber turned to PPF to navigate the complexities of losing a child.
In 2023, Amber and her husband welcomed their second child, Madeleine, conceived through IVF. In 2025, Amber joined the PPF board with a deep commitment to improving support systems and resources for parents experiencing perinatal loss.
